Limit Order vs. Stop Order

Stop-Loss vs. Stop-Limit Order: What Investors Need to Know.

While a stop-loss and stop-limit order sound similar and are somewhat related, they have differing effects and are suitable for differing circumstances. How Limit and Stop Orders Work. A limit order is an instruction to the broker to trade a certain number shares at a specific price or better. For example, for an investor looking to buy a stock, a limit order at $50 means Buy this stock as soon as the price reaches $50 or lower.

Step 1: Open a brokerage account

To buy stock, you generally need to take four steps: open a brokerage account, identify the stock you wish to buy, determine how many shares you want and select your order type.

The trading orders offered by brokers for buying and selling in Forex are as follows:. It is sometimes referred to as an unrestricted order. It is used to buy or sell at the current market price. Caution is needed because there can be a disparity between the actual price and the price when the order is given. It is the default option source. It is a pending order used in case of simultaneous limit order and stop-loss order. The limit order is used and the currency is sold for profit if the market reaches the limit price.

The stop-loss order is used when the market falls in order to avoid loss. It is a pending order used to buy or sell at the limit order price. It is used to buy below the market price or sell above the market price. It can assure that the trade to be made is at a specific price or better.

I'm rebuilding a carburated that will never see 4, RPMs for use in a 4x4 with 4: Bogie, if you see that can you please explain why you would chose swirl port heads over Vortecs if I'm looking for "bottom end grunt" and that's exactly what I'm looking for!

Good grief that's a long time ago! Where I'm at with an engine that wouldn't be revved over RPM is that Swirl Ports at that level are working right where they were designed for. They will pick up the bottom end a small amount 5 or so ft pounds, which is really incidental compared to Vortecs, but they support your wallet well. If you move the Vortecs you really need a Vortec specific intake which is a bit pricey. Additionally, if you need to run emissions the EGR on the Vortec set up is external and requires a bunch of plumbing which can range from some GM and Edlebrock parts ranging from a Vortec exhaust manifold or header and external plumbing to modifying what you've got for an exhaust manifold or header and fabricating the external plumbing; all depending on your capabilities.

So there is a considerable cost advantage to not using the Vortec head on a slow turning engine as you're not going to rev it where you can capitalize on the upper end power advantage.

So I'm mostly at a cost versus gain isn't worth it because you're incurring the cost and not using the gain. If you want to raise the RPMs with a bigger cam and possibly some head work, then the answer changes as the revs get over Thanks for the quick response and straight answer mainly the straight answer, as they can be hard to come by on some forums!
